Conradzero.com makes top 100 Gothic websites styles list!

/ August 1st, 2005 / No Comments »

An e-mail to me from www.vlasishost.com announced that www.conradzero.com was chosen for their “top 100″ list of Gothic HTML styles.

Vlasishost provides code, tools, tips and resources for HTML and PHP programming.

I’m flattered and surprised. I guess if you choose a narrow enough niche, you too can be in the top 100! I know there are not many other gothic, musician/author/demonologists out there…

August Strindberg and Helium

/ June 10th, 2005 / No Comments »

Been offline for a while. I might be coming down with EverQuest2-itis…

Actually I have been spending much of my spare time writing. The Demonslayer’s Handbook is now up to 425 pages. The story grows and grows with no end in site, and writing it is like trying to “catch a deluge in a paper cup” to quote Crowded House.

During a rare Non-Writing and Non-EverQuest moment, I tripped across this wonderful website:

Strindberg + Helium

My favorite episode is “At Home with the Kids”.  It is Strange. Like you.

Star Wars IV (ASCII Version)

/ May 5th, 2005 / No Comments »

A bloke named Simon Jansen is in the process of ASCII-fying the movie Star Wars (part IV – A New Hope) You can check the progress here:

http://www.asciimation.co.nz/

[Feb 2010 Update] With the convenient playback controls you can FF and skip to the end. Although the movie isn’t quite finished, check out the ending anyway. You don’t want to miss the cookie!

Not sure what else I’d expect from the man who made the World’s First Jet-Powered Beer Cooler, but there you are. Guess Simon’s got a lot of free time on his hands…

(this site requires the Shockwave browser plugin)

Ever see a cow doing TaiChi? Even if you cant understand Scanda-who-vian, you should be able to work this site. Just pull the different moves down onto the timeline, and press the spacebar to start and stop the action! Add music and sound effects to the other two tracks.

The Future of Private Law Enforcement

/ July 26th, 2004 / No Comments »

Need some extra cash? Freelancesecurity.com lists opportunities for private investigators and freelancers. Bid on a job providing protection to people travelling to Bangladesh! Follow someone’s husband around to see if he is cheating! Investigate cases of identity fraud! Assassinate Foreign Dignitaries!

Hell, I’d do this stuff for free!

I think this could become the preferred method for dealing justice. Think about it; if you aren’t satisfied with the public school system, you pay for a private school. If you aren’t happy with the public library, you go to your local bookstore. If you aren’t happy with the public judicial system, you pay a private party.

Well, gotta go pack my bags. I leave for Bangladesh in the morning…

The National ‘Do Not Call’ Registry

/ February 11th, 2004 / No Comments »

Go here or call 1-888-382-1222 to add your phone number to the National DO NOT CALL registry. It won’t stop the following:

“political organizations, charities, or companies with which you have an existing business relationship.”

And it won’t stop your weird relatives from calling, but according to the website, it should stop ALL other telemarketers from calling! Finally, some tax dollars put to some good use…

In response to those who feel the need to advertise their beliefs by affixing them to the rear of their vehicles, evolvefish.com offers some alternatives for those of us who feel the need to make fun of them.
